YRUU
YRUU (Young Religious Unitarian Universalists) is youth
ministry program for high-school-age students.
All YRUU members must sign and abide by the YRUU Covenant
and Behavior Rules and provide personal and parental contact information.
We define the mission of YRUU as fostering a loving,
supportive community wherein teens and young adults can deepen their
understanding of themselves and forge stronger relations with one another
through fellowship, spirituality, leadership, learning, and social action
– affirming the Seven Principles of Unitarian
Universalism through thought and action.
Some YRUU activities recur regularly. For instance, YRUU
prepares and serves a brunch after the Easter worship service each year and
often conducts a lay-led worship service in the Spring.
Other activities are planned by YRUU members and their
adult advisors. Examples of the dizzying array of past activities include:
-
Float trips
-
Babysitting for church members who need to do gift
shopping during the Christmas season
-
Fundraising with cookie and bake sales, car washes, ec.
-

Holding "movie nights" to view and then discuss serious
