She is the co-founder of a troupe that performs personal narratives about domestic/relationship violence. Our church has benefited greatly from the wise and entertaining programs she has presented.

Wayne Anderson, Professor Emeritus Psychology Population Control: What Are the Major Nations Doing About It? There has been much concern about the world’s exploding population. Dr. Anderson has met with physicians and other professional in a number of countries such as China and Russia and will discuss the different approaches each of them has taken or not taken to the problem.

On Dr.Temple Grandin, a World Expert on Animals Carla and Wayne Anderson will show an 18-minute lecture, “The World Needs All Kinds of Minds” by Temple Grandin, who was diagnosed with autism as a child, talking about how her “disability” gave her special insights into animal behavior. They will lead a discussion on the different ways the mind works and how we may be underestimating our ability to work with high level autism. Grandin said, “Autism is part of who I am.”

“What I Learned from the Sisters” -- Rev. Sue Spencer in the pulpit. Four years ago, I took a break from parish ministry and spent two years in an intentional religious community. This experience taught me a lot about myself, changed me in unexpected ways, and helped clarify my own vocation. Sharing part of it with you is just one of the ways in which I plan to introduce myself over time.

Several of our church's social action projects support the U.N. Millennium Development Goals.  This service will feature the Church World Service Crop Walk and the Festival of Sharing.

“For the Time Being: Notes on the Interim Journey” -- Rev. Sue Spencer in the pulpit. What is an Interim Minister, and what does (s)he do? Theories of transitional ministry have changed over time. This service will introduce you to some of the current thinking, and describe in general terms the terrain we’ll be traversing over the next two years.
